Propagation characteristics of novel partially coherent light beams through an optical system with an aperture
By expanding the hard-edged aperture into the sum of complex Gaussian functions with finite terms,a simple propagation equation is theoretically derived for the spectral density of a novel partially coherent beam with phase manipulation through an apertured lens. The influence of aperture size and phase manipulation parameter on propagation characteristics of a novel partially coherent beam is analyzed numerically by using fast Fourier transform in matlab. Results show that different size of aperture has little effect while different phase manipulation parameter has great effect on the spectral density of the novel partially coherent beam in the focal plane. The novel partially coherent beam with second-order cubic phase manipulation has self-healing property and has potential application in the field of optical communication in harsh environment.
