The Impact of Self-efficacy and Interest on Digital Occupation Choices
This study focuses on digital occupation choices in the pipeline of digital talent developments, and tries to analyze the key psychological factors that affect college students'digital occupation choices by conduc-ting logistic regressions using the self-designed survey data. Results showed that both digital self-efficacy and interest are significantly and positively associated with digital occupation choices, and digital interest is a bet-ter predictor.Further looking at college types and students'preferences for digital fields, results showed that students from universities are more likely to choose digital occupations than their peers from vocational colle-ges.In addition, the increase in digital self-efficacy of vocational college students leads to a statistically signif-icant decrease in their likelihood to choose digital occupations in agricultural fields, but a significant increase in the likelihood to choose digital occupations in the fields of social undertakings. The research results have practical implications for accelerating the cultivation of digital talents, and also suggest to strengthen the com-bination of industry, university and research in the digital field to promote postsecondary institutions'talent training.
