How to deal with the relationship between the historical experience of China and the general social science methods determines the quality and even the future of historical political science.It is also a vital problem that all the social science disciplines with a"historical turn"need to solve.According to whether they apply historical methods or social science methods,this article tries to classify and analyze all the current history-oriented political science approaches.The historical political science in future,which give consideration to both historical experience and scientific methods,needs to make changes in five aspects:logical foundation,literature accumulation,research questions,historical materials usage and comparative methods.This approach,with a wider view and a higher standard,is not only conducive to inheriting and applying the plentiful resources of the academic community at home and abroad,but also useful for summarizing and refining the practical experiences in Chinese history,and ultimately,developing universal and solid theories.
