Paper-based microfluidic colorimetric sensor fabricated by laser printing for portable detection of Cu2+
A fast, convenient and sensitive method is needed for on-site detection of copper ion concentrations in the water environment. In this study, based on the laser printing method, toner was printed on qualitative filter paper to construct the microfluidic channels.Using cuprizone functionalized qualitative filter paper, the paper-based colorimetric sensor could be used for the detection of copper ions in the water environment. The experimental results show that through the smartphone and developed color information extraction program, the detection limit(LOD)of Cu2+in drinking water of paper-based microfluidic colorimetric sensor was 0.11 mg·L-1 with the quantitative limit(LOQ)of 0.35 mg·L-1.The prepared colorimetric sensor exhibits the advantages of simple manufacturing steps, good stability, low cost and rapid detection, and shows its application potential in on-site environmental monitoring.
