The Pain in the Changing Times and the Cry of"Workers'Children"——On the City Writing of Ban Yu's Winter Swimming
"New Northeast writers group"refers to a group of young writers from Northeast China in the literary world in recent years,which pays special attention to certain common tendencies they exhibit in their creations.As an important representative among them,Ban Yu's works vividly demonstrate the common characteristics of the group's creation,especially the experiential expression of"the city is the hometown".From the per-spective of"peers"in the reform and opening up,he focused on the spatial displacement and survival destiny of the"new workers"class and its next generation in the continuous cycle of deconstruction and construction of urban space-time transformation,exposed the decline of old industrial cities in Northeast China and a series of urban problems arising from it,and described the urban life in the social transformation as an emotional landscape of"city and hometown",showing the workers'pain of their identity loss and the cry of"workers'children"in the changing times.
