"FOUR-KILOMETER-LONG"NANJING'S MODERN AND CONTEMPORARY ARCHITECTURE HISTORY
Taking modern architecture on Changjiang Road and Zhongshan East Road as research objects,this article analyzes important buildings and architects involved in design and provides a detailed analysis of the development process of Nanjing Museum(former National Central Museum).It not only presents the complexity,contradic-tions,and inclusiveness of Nanjing in the process of urban modernization,but also reveals the efforts and contributions made by several generations of architects over the past century in dealing with the issues of architectural tradition and modernity in different eras.In the new era,urban construction and architectural creation should adhere to the concept of"creative transformation and innovative develop-ment"and explore their path of modernization.
