Preparation and Property of Organic Silicone Modified Waterborne Polyurethane/Acrylate Composite Emulsion
Waterborne polyurethane (WPU) containing the unsaturated double bond were synthesized with isophorone diisocyanate (IPDI) , polyoxypropylene glycol (PPG) , dimethylol propionic acid (DMPA) and hydroxyethyl acrylate (HEA) as main materials. Then, the organic silicone modified polyurethane-acrylate(PUA) composite emulsions were obtained via the free radical polymerization, with the WPU as the seed emulsion and with γ-methacryoxy propytrimethoxysilane (KH570) , methyl methacrylate (MMA) and butyl acrylate (BA) as the main monomers. The composite emulsions as well as their films were characterized by means of FT-IR, TG and par-ticle size analyzer. The influences of KH570 dosages on the water resistance, thermal stability and mechanical prop-erties of PUA membranes were discussed. The results showed that the PUA emulsion had good stability when the mass fraction of KH570 in the film was less than 7.65%.The emulsion particle size increased, the film of water contact angle increased, the water absorption ratio decreased, water-resistance, thermal stability and mechanical properties were greatly improved as the dosage of KH570 increased.
