Effect of Flame Retardant on Flame Retardancy of Spray Polyurea Elastomer
Flame retardants aluminum hypophosphate(AHP),graphite(EG)and phosphorous polyol were added to the spray polyurea(PUA)in different amounts, and the flame retardant polyurea samples were prepared by spraying. The effects of the type and amount of flame retardant on the thermal stability and flame retardancy of the polyurea were studied. The results showed that the introduction of AHP and EG could improve the initial thermal decomposition temperature and charring property of PUA,while the introduction of phosphorus-containing polyols could reduce the initial decomposition temperature and had little effect on charring formation. The mass ratio of graphite to phosphorus polyol 1∶1 could reduce the heat release rate and total heat release, improve the charring property and smoke suppression effect. The LOI value was increased to 29.2%.The product could reach the UL94 V-0 grade, and had excellent flame retardant performance.
