Preparation of Aqueous Polyurethane Using the Distillation Residue of HDI Curing Agent
The aim of this study is to solve the reusing problem of waste from hexamethylene diisocyanate(HDI)curing agent production.The waterborne polyurethane resin was synthesized with the distillate residue of HDI curing agent,monol,polytetrahydrofuran glycol(PTMEG),hydrophilic chain extender dimethylol propionic acid(DMPA),momols/polyols and polyamine.The effects of the momol type,type and functionality of polyols and polyamines on the viscosity of prepolymer,stability of emulsion,water resistance and mechanical properties of paint film were studied.The results showed that using heptanol to partially block the NCO group of the multifunctional distilled liquid of HDI curing agent was beneficial for preparing low viscosity prepolymers.The waterborne polyurethane film prepared with nonadiol combined with trimethylolpropane as front crosslinking agents,and triethylene tetramine as the back crosslinking agent had the best performance.
