Abstract
This paper expounds the causes of 10kV overhead insulated wire breakage,insulation breakdown caused by lightning overvoltage,and arc caused by power frequency continuous current.Analyze several strategies for dealing with lightning induced wire breakage,and propose measures such as installing new lightning protection insulators and reducing the grounding resistance of towers.
