Error Analysis of Single Station Passive Location Method Based on IFF Signals
As an important passive reconnaissance method, passive localization has a longer detection range than active localization. At the same time, passive localization uses electromagnetic waves from radar for localization and does not radiate electromagnetic waves into space,so it has better concealment characteristic and battlefield survivability.Current passive location conventionally uses multi-station location, contains multi-station time difference location,multi-station crossing loca-tion,etc..Compared with multi-station passive localization, single station passive localization has the characteristics of simple system structure, low cost and high mobility,so it is widely researched by researchers in recent years. This paper introduces a single station passive localization method based on identification friend or foe(IFF)signals, and localization error is analyzed. The height in-formation of aerocraft is got through intercepting IFF signal in real time by this method, and the pitch and azimuth information are got through direction finding receiver, then the mathematical modeling of single station passive localization is established, thus the real time location of aircraft is realized. Finally, through formula derivation and simulation verification, various factors affecting localization accuracy are analyzed.
