A Method Realizing Constant Beam Width of Uniform Linear Array
When the received signal by a basic array is broadband, the conventional broadband beam-forming leads to the discrepancy of beam patterns at different frequencies. The higher the frequen-cy,the narrower the beam-width.When the signals enter from non-spindle direction inside the main beam, the output waveform will be distorted, which will directly affect the subsequent functions of the system such as waveform estimation and target characteristics identification. The basic method to solve this problem is to design a beam-former of constant beam width, thus the basic array sys-tem has the same beam pattern to the input signals with different frequencies. This paper studies a control method of constant beam width applied to uniform linear array——spatial resampling method. The simulation results show that the system can achieve constant beam-width within a certain bandwidth, which confirm the effectiveness of the method. In addition, this paper simulates the application of spatial resampling constant beam control algorithm to frequency domain wide-band beam-forming system. In the case of broadband beam-forming in frequency domain, the over-lapping preservation method is used to solve the problem of phase discontinuity between data blocks. For the frequency points outside the band range of the system, this paper proposes an inno-vative minimal number processing method, which can suppress the interference outside the band and improve the result accuracy.
