Glass Surface Defect Detection Based on Polarization Imaging
Aiming at the problem of scratch defect detection on the surface of biological glass slide,a detection method using polarization imaging is proposed. The imaging optical system based on polarization camera is constructed to obtain the glass surface image. The median filter and image enhancement are used for image denoising and enhancement. The appropriate image segmenta-tion algorithm is used to segment the defect features and identify defects. The effect of different polarization angles on defect detec-tion is studied experimentally and compared with the non-polarized light imaging detection. The results show that, compared with the traditional non polarized imaging, the polarized imaging detection can effectively avoid local overexposure, obtain low contrast scratch defect features, identify surface scratches that cannot be detected by traditional imaging in the same background, and im-prove the detection efficiency and accuracy. This method can also be extended to visual inspection of scratch defects on glass sur-face.
