Research on the Method of Manual Control Competency Rating in Initial Flight Training
Manual control ability is one of the core competencies that pilots must have, and its quantitative rating method is the pain point of initial flight training. This paper takes the evaluation of manual control skills of flight cadets as the research object.Firstly, according to the Competency-Based Training and Evaluation Theory(CBTA)proposed by the International Civil Aviation Organization(ICAO),the number and frequency of observable behaviors(OB)of manual control ability are selected as the evalua-tion index. The flight experts design the observation items and builds the correlation matrix according to the characteristics of the as-sessment course, and uses the norm of the correlation matrix to calculate the number and frequency of OB display.Secondly, based on the VENN criterion, the manual control competency evaluation model is built, the rating threshold is determined, and a large number of test sample data are used to learn the evaluation experience of flight experts. Finally, the effectiveness of the design meth-od is verified by empirical analysis combined with the evaluation of control skills of typical courses, which provides a reference for standardizing and quantifying the rating standards of flight cadets'manual control ability.
