Research on the Influence of Absorbing Coating on the Electromagnetic Scattering Characteristics of Helicopter Rotors
Based on geometric optics, physical optics, and equivalent electromagnetic flow,a high-frequency approximation al-gorithm for radar cross section(RCS)is used to extract and analyze the dynamic electromagnetic scattering characteristics of coated radar absorbing material rotors using Fourier transform. The focus is on studying the effects of changes in coating position, coating thickness, and electromagnetic frequency on the dynamic electromagnetic scattering characteristics of rotors. The results show that adding an absorbing coating on the rotor surface can effectively reduce the time-domain dynamic RCS and frequency-domain compo-nent amplitude of the rotor, and the coating position of the absorbing material determines the frequency band range where the compo-nent amplitude decreases in the frequency domain. The spectral characteristics of RCS can be used to determine where the absorbing coating exists on the rotor surface. The thickness of the absorbing coating and the electromagnetic environment it is in can both affect the absorbing effect of the coating. The article reasonably formulates a coating and absorbing material scheme for the rotor based on weight indicators, combat tasks, and other requirements, aiming to reduce the scattering intensity of specific parts of the rotor, which can interfere with the dynamic electromagnetic scattering characteristics of the rotor in both time and frequency domains, and better utilize the ability of absorbing coatings to enhance the stealth of rotor radar.
