An Exploration of Textual Contextual Analysis Pedagogy in Art and Design's ESP Course
English for Specific Purposes(ESP)course is part of the specialized courses in art and design colleges.However,for a long time,its teaching model is not well-related to art and design majors.The teaching contents are relatively single and students'sense of gain is weak.How to make ESP courses closely integrate with major,how to move away from the traditional teaching model that mainly focuses on English language skills and exam-oriented thinking,are the focuses and difficulties of the ESP teaching reform.In an attempt to benefit the teaching model improvement and reform of ESP,this paper takes an ESP course for undergraduate students of art and design major as an example.The paper draws on the"value formation model"as its curriculum design and teaching concept to form a course that takes art literature as a whole,art and design terms as the center,the inner logic of"impression-text-context-discernment"as the teaching method.
