Exploring Micro-Renovation of Rural Space on the Periphery of Urban Scenic Areas from a Symbiotic Perspective:A Case Study of Dongtou Village in Wuhan East Lake Scenic Area
Suburban scenic villages are the outcome of the gradual fusion of urban expansion and scenic area development. While sharing generating mechanisms with traditional urban villages, they uniquely possess characteristics containing"scenic"and"village",resulting in distinct spatial functions and landscape styles shaped by socio-economic conditions. The key challenge is achieving synergistic development between the urban scenic area and the existing countryside.Focused on Dongtou Village in Wuhan East Lake Scenic Area, the study reveals challenges such as ecological concentration, structural disorders, spatial function degradation, and complex social relations. The proposed transformation strategy emphasizes integrating a symbiotic environment, optimizing units, and fostering symbiotic modes to restore village structures to enhance spatial landscapes and foster synergistic relationships, offering innovative ideas for sustainable development.
