Study on the Application of Red Color in Qing Dynasty Royal Architecture:Taking Kunning Palace as an Example
The paper aims to reveal the characteristics of the color application of the royal architectural space in the Qing Dynasty by studying the characteristics of the application of red decoration in the interior and exterior space of Kunning Palace,as well as the origin of the decoration of the royal wedding room.Through the analysis of historical materials of Qing Dynasty,the interpretation of modern cultural relics research texts,and the comparison of traditional Chinese color names and color values,this paper probes into the red decorative furnishings in the middle and interior of the Palace.The analysis of the production process and color symbol of the decoration items has the distinctive characteristics of the joint action of Manchu and Han culture,reflecting the deep meaning of the ruling class's use of color in the Qing Dynasty.The color of interior decoration reflects the inheritance and integration of Manchu culture to the Han culture.The use of red in Kunning Palace helps the feudal rulers of the Qing Dynasty to control the culture,thoughts and resources of the vast territory of China.
