Modeling Analysis and Design Translation of Dragon Pattern of Miao Embroidery in Southeast Guizhou
The dragon embroidery pattern of Miao nationality in southeast Guizhou is the most representative embroidery pattern of Miao nationality in Guizhou. It has various forms, distinctive modeling features and stylized internal structure.By systematically reviewing literature and comparing embroidery artifacts, this study analyzes the design elements, structural framework, and color configurations of these patterns. It identifies key characteristics, including their amorphous and exaggerated deformation,a structural framework predominantly composed of spiraling and curling wave-like lines, and a color arrangement distributed in gradient layers, complemented by decorative techniques that flexibly blend and mix colors. At the same time, this paper uses the design methods of element extraction and visual translation to carry out the derivative design of Miao embroidery dragon pattern, summarizes the design basis and creative ideas in the process of design translation, and integrates the Miao costume culture gene into the design of cultural and creative products.
