Promoting the Construction of a Beautiful China:the Concept Dissemination and Governance Innovation of Education for Ecological Civilization and Sustainable Development
Sustainable development education,as an important educational concept of UNESCO,has gone through more than 30 years from its inception to maturity.The dissemination of this concept in China can be summarized as four stages:Environmental Education,Environment Population and Development Education,Sustainable Development Education,and Education for Ecological Civilization and Sustainable Development.In the progress of promoting this concept,China has constructed a governance model with multiple stakeholders participating.Various stakeholders such as universities,research institutions,government departments at all levels,public schools,and social institutions participate through various mechanisms,promoting the continuous innovation and deepening of theory,policies,and practices of Education for Ecological Civilization and Sustainable Development.The above models also provide reference for building a powerful country in education.In the future,it is necessary to strengthen the integration and symbiosis,collaborative governance of the entire institutional governance model,and digital reform of Education for Ecological Civilization and Sustainable Development.
