The Impact of Teacher Power Misuse on Students' Moral Construction and Coping Strategies
Teachers'power consistently influences students'moral construction in both explicit and implicit ways,with the misuse of teacher power having a negative impact on this process.This study analyzes the connotation of teacher power,identifying its characteristics as educational,public,supportive,and controlling.Educational,public,and supportive attributes are inherent to teacher power,while control is a factor that can lead to its misuse.In the educational context,the negative impact of misused teacher power on student moral construction is primarily manifested in three areas:class system,value guidance,and emotional involvement.Therefore,to prevent the negative effects of misused teacher power on student moral development,it is essential to enhance students'ability for dialogue,improve teachers'capacity to exercise their power appropriately,and strengthen the overall governance of schools,thereby supporting students'healthy growth and effectively implementing the fundamental task of fostering virtue through education.
