Effects of Appropriate Techniques of Traditional Chinese Medicine on Postoperative Urinary Retention in Patients Undergoing Laparoscopic Surgery
Objective To observe the effects of appropriate techniques of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)on postoperative urinary retention in the patients undergoing laparoscopic surgery. Methods Fifty patients aged 21 to 40 years who underwent laparoscopic surgery in the Third Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine from January 2022 to December 2022 were randomized into control and observation groups, with 25 patients in each group. The control group received routine intervention, while the observation group received TCM appropriate techniques(acupoint needle-embedding + moxibustion + acupoint injection)on the basis of routine treatment. The incidence of urinary retention, bladder compliance, quality of life score(36-Item Short Form Survey,SF-36),and Functional Independence Measure(FIM)score were compared between the two groups. Results After intervention, the incidence of urinary retention in the observation group was lower than that in the control group(P<0.01).In addition, the observation group outperformed the control group in terms of bladder compliance,SF-36 score, and FIM score(P<0.01).Conclusion The application of TCM appropriate techniques of in patients undergoing laparoscopic surgery can reduce the incidence of postoperative urinary retention and improve bladder compliance, demonstrating great clinical significance.
