Alzheimer's Disease:From the Theory of"Kidney Storing Essence and Essence Housing Will"
Alzheimer's disease(AD)is a disease with learning and memory dysfunction as the main clinical manifestation.It is a disease of dementia in traditional Chinese medicine,with the pathogenic site in the brain.The theory of"kidney storing essence and essence housing will"is derived from the Chapter Basic State of Spirit in Spiritual Pivot(Ling Shu),which summarizes the relationship between kidney essence,will,and memory from the perspective of body and spirit.According to this theory and the clinical characteristics of memory decline in AD patients,this paper explores the relationship of kidney essence and will with AD,as well as the principles and methods of treating this disease from kidney,aiming to provide a theoretical basis for the treatment of AD with traditional Chinese medicine.
