Pang Yuzhou's Experience in Treating Vertigo from Deficiency
Professor Pang Yuzhou's experience in treating vertigo from deficiency based on syndrome differentiation is discussed.Vertigo occurs in the head(brain).Its occurrence is related to the dystrophy or disturbance of the head(brain)and the dysfunction of zang-fu organs,especially the liver,spleen,and kidney.Wind,fire,phlegm,stasis,and deficiency are the main causes of vertigo.Professor Pang believes that deficiency is the primary cause of vertigo,and the patients mainly present the syndromes of qi-blood deficiency,kidney essence deficiency,and liver-kidney deficiency.Considering the main cause(deficiency),the clinical treatment of vertigo should follow the principles of tonifying heart and spleen,replenishing qi and blood,tonifying kidney and supplementing essence,generating marrow for the brain,nourishing liver and kidney,and nourishing yin and subduing yang based on syndrome differentiation,which have achieve satisfactory effects.Here we report one case to provide a reference for the peers.
