Experience of Chinese Medicine Pretreatment before Assisted Reproduction in Patients with Infertility Due to Diminished Ovarian Reserve
The patients with diminished ovarian reserve(DOR)have compromised fertility due the decreased number and/or quality of oocytes. In recent years, more and more DOR patients have reproduction demand and need assisted reproductive technology(ART).These patients, however, often fail to obtain satisfactory pregnancy outcomes when receiving assisted reproductive treatment. To improve the clinical pregnancy rate and live birth rate, researchers in the field of reproduction of Chinese and Western medicine have developed various pretreatment schemes to increase the number and improve the quality of eggs obtained.Director Zhao Li has accumulated rich clinical experience in Chinese medicine pretreatment for the patients with infertility due to DOR before ART by integrating Chinese and Western medicine.Director Zhao emphasizes psychological counseling and advocates regulating both physical and mental health. The syndrome differentiation focuses on the liver and kidney, with consideration to the heart and spleen.Director Zhao adopts staged treatment according to the patient conditions and advocates the combination of acupuncture and medicine for both internal and external treatment. This article provides an idea for reducing the occurrence of ovarian hyporesponsiveness and improve the clinical pregnancy outcomes of the DOR patients receiving ART.
