Effect of Yucanzhiju Ointment on Drunken Rats with Alcoholic Liver
Objective To explore the effect of Yucanzhiju Ointment on drunken rats with alcoholic liver. Methods 36 SD rats were randomly divided into a blank control group,a model control group,a positive control group of bifendate,a low-dose Yucanzhiju Ointment group(2 g/kg),a medium-dose Yucanzhiju Ointment group(4 g/kg),and a high-dose Yucanzhiju Ointment group(8 g/kg)and administered for 35 days.Except the blank control group, the other groups were administered by gavage with Niulanshan Erguotou(1 mL/kg)4 h after routine administration every 7 days. The weight changes, walking on a balance beam, time taken to be drunk, and time taken to be sober were observed to investigate the effect of Yucanzhiju Ointment on drunkenness of rats. The effect of Yucanzhiju Ointment on the rat liver was evaluated using liver weight index, liver morphology, and hematoxylin-eosin staining. Results Compared with those of the model control group, the rats in the medium-dose and high-dose Yucanzhiju Ointment groups walk more steady on a balance beam and have significantly postponed time taken to be drunk, significantly shortened time taken to be sober, and improvement in the structural disorder of liver cells, vacuolization of cytoplasmic fat,and blurred cell boundaries. Conclusion High and medium doses of Yucanzhiju Ointment have a certain intervention effect on drunken rats with alcoholic liver.
