Study on Comprehensive Evaluation of the Seed Grade of Trichosanthes kirilowii Maxim.Based on Hierarchical Cluster Analysis and PLS Regression
Objective To establish the model of quality evaluation of T.kirilowii seeds and scientifically evaluate its quality grade.Methods The purity,water content,1 000-grain weight,germination rate and viability of 25 T.kirilowii seeds from different areas were determined.These results were analyzed by hierarchical cluster analysis(HCA),partial least squares discriminant analysis(PLS-DA)and partial least squares(PLS)regression analysis based on SIMCA-P 14.0 software.Furthermore,a prediction model for grading of T.kirilowii seeds was constructed by PLS regression analysis.Results The results showed that 25 batches of T.kirilowii seeds could be divided into three grades according to HCA,and was reasonable evaluating by PLS-DA.The PLS regression model for quality grade of T.kirilowii seeds was constructed as follows:grade Y=2.618+0.006X1-0.045X2-0.035X3+0.005X4(X1:1 000-grain weigh,X2:water content,X3:viability,X4:germination rate),if Y=0.5~1.5,the predicted quality was grade A,if Y=1.5~2.5,then B grade,if Y=2.5~3.5,C grade.Conclusion The mode of quality grading evaluation performed well.The study provided a theoretic basis for the quality grading prediction and the breeding of improved varieties of T.kirilowii seeds.
