Anti-tussive,Anti-asthmatic and Anti-inflammatory Effects of Crepis phoenix Dunn Extract
Objective To investigate the anti-tussive,anti-asthmatic and anti-inflammatory effects of Crepis phoenix Dunn.Methods Acute toxicity test was used to study the safety of Crepis phoenix Dunn extract in mice.Ammonia water induced cough mouse model,citric acid induced cough guinea pig model and methacholine combined with histamine phosphate induced asthma guinea pig model were used to evaluate the antiasthmatic effect of Crepis phoenix Dunn.To study the anti-inflammatory activity of Crepis phoenix Dunn in vitro by lipopolysaccharide(LPS)-induced mouse monocyte-macrophage(RAW264.7)inflammatory model.Results The maximum doses of Crepis phoenix Dunn water extract and alcohol extract were 40.0 g/kg and 60.0 g/kg,respectively,in the acute toxicity test of mouse by gavage.Crepisphoenix Dunn extract could significantly reduce the number of coughs in mouse and guinea pigs,prolong the latency of cough induction in mouse and asthma induction in guinea pigs,and reduce the content of IL-6 and TNF-α in RAW264.7 inflammatory cells.Conclusion The anti-tussive,anti-asthmatic and anti-inflammatory effects of Crepisphoenix Dunn alcohol extract are better than water extract,and its anti-tussive and anti-asthmatic effect may be related to inhibiting the occurrence of related inflammatory reactions.
