Research on the Design of Community Fitness Products for the Elderly Based on Empathy Design
Based on the principles of empathy,this article delves into the research surrounding the design of community fitness products tai-lored for the elderly demographic.To achieve this,data regarding language,behavior,and emotions exhibited by elderly users in the com-munity fitness setting is gathered through a variety of empathetic methodologies including observation,interviews,and role-playing.These tools enable a genuine comprehension of the psychological processes at play within the elderly population,leading to an analysis and synthesis of their fitness-related functional and social needs.The aim is to identify areas for improvement based on these psychological needs.Drawing upon empathy theory,this article presents design strategies for community fitness products targeting the elderly across three distinct layers:vi-sual,behavioral,and reflective.These strategies are intended to enhance the suitability of community fitness products for an aging population.
