Simulation Study on Sealing Performance of Rubber Sleeve of Near Leak Free Vertical Piston Pump Based on ABAQUS Software
Based on a new type of nearly leak-free vertical piston pump, the finite element model of rubber sealing chamber of the vertical piston pump was established by ABAQUS,and the working process of the vertical piston pump was simulated.Firstly, the Von Mises stress and shear stress of the rubber sleeve under natural state and maximum stroke state were analyzed, and the failure location of the rubber sleeve due to stress relaxation during operation was speculated.Mises yield criterion and Tresca maximum shear stress criterion of rubber seal members were used to judge whether the maximum stress would cause the failure of seal members. Then the effects of fluid pressure and friction coefficient on the sealing performance of the rubber sleeve were analyzed. The results showed that the increase of fluid pressure and friction coefficient would increase the maximum Von Mises stress and maximum contact pressure of the rubber sleeve, which would lead to premature failure of the rubber sleeve. The influence of fluid pressure and friction coefficient on the sealing performance of sealing sleeve should be considered in the structural design of near-leak-free vertical piston pump.
