Finite Element Analysis of Seismic Response of Prefabricated Single Compartment Underground Pipe Gallery
The prefabricated single compartment underground pipe gallery has good economy and practicality, which meets the construc-tion needs of specific pipelines in small and medium-sized cities.Earthquake is the main factor causing damage to underground pipe galleries. In order to explore the seismic response of prefabricated single compartment underground pipe galleries,a finite element model of pipe gallery and soil was established based on finite element software.Three sets of natural seismic wave inputs with different peak accelerations were selected, and the nonlinear factors of materials and contact between structure and soil were comprehensively considered.Simulation analysis was conducted from three aspects:interface displacement, stress distribution, and material damage. The results indicate that in the horizontal direction, the overall damage of the pipe gallery did not extend to the entire section. In the vertical direction, the damage of the pipe gallery is not continuous. The junction between the side wall and the top plate of the pipe gallery,as well as the position of the socket and spigot, are vulnerable areas, and more attention should be paid in seismic design.
