The Deformation and Failure of Sandwich Structures with Different Core Materials under Air-blast Loading
Based on the dynamic explicit finite element method, the deformation and failure characteristics of sandwich structures with dif-ferent core materials(aluminum honeycomb, foam aluminum, without core material)under air-blast loading were compared.Under the same charge type, charge amount, and different detonation distances, the deformation process and amount of different sandwich structures were investigated, the failure and failure modes were analyzed, the energy absorption characteristics were compared. The results show that the foam aluminum sandwich structure has the smallest deformation and damage degree, the best energy absorption characteristics, and is the structure with best anti-explosion performance, followed by the aluminum honeycomb sandwich structure under different detonation distances; The degree of deformation and failure of sandwich structures increases significantly with the decrease of blast distance, and the failure mode develops from bending to delamination or even fracture.
