During the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression,the development of superstitious sects and secret societies in Taihang area endangered social stability and threatened the construction and development of Taihang base areas behind the enemy lines.It is imperative to ban superstitious sects and secret societies.The Communist Party of China conducted an in-depth investigation of superstitious sects and secret societies in the base area and widely publicized the policies and guidelines for transformation,which made a large number of people recognize the evil nature of superstitious sects and secret societies.At the same time,a top-down security organi-zation was established in Taihang base area,and the leaders of superstitious sects and secret societies were won over or attacked conditionally,and grass-roots political power was actively built.Lots of superstitious sects and secret societies were banned or reformed,which laid a solid mass foundation and social foundation for the victory of the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression.
