Considering the material nonlinearity,geometric nonlinearity and contact nonlinearity involved in the use of deep water rubber lip seals into the axisymmetric finite element model,the shaft is numerically inserted into the rubber seal,and the friction heat build-up between the seal and the rotating shaft is simulated by the mechanical-thermal field coupling method.The simulated radial force,friction torque,leakage and lip temperature field are achieved,which provides an effective method to simulate and analyze the friction heat generation of similar rotary lip seals.It provides reference for the design of seal structure and component selection of ship propeller.
