The contemporary experimental art of the blue-and-white porcelain originated largely from the tradi-tional one.For decades,it has always adhered to the principle of presenting ethnic features.By analyzing the current situation of the experimental art,this paper makes a deep exploration of the means of expression in it that may reveal ethnic characteristics.The results show that the major approach to presenting ethnic features used by the contemporary experimental blue-and-white art is combining the western with the eastern,with the specific means including the fusion of our traditional image expression and the western abstract one,integration of the meticulous brushwork and the western realistic one,and combination of patter imitations and modern original compositions etc.
