Construction theory proposes that construction be regarded as unit of translation.Construction is actu-ally a conventionalized form-meaning pair,whose intrinsic and extrinsic characteristics are worth exploration.Our study has found that there exists an internal correlation of the wholeness,prominence,interactivity and complexi-ty of construction with the holistic equivalence,significant equivalence,flexible equivalence and multidimensional equivalence between interlingual translation.If the characteristics of construction and their influence on transla-tion equivalence are viewed from the perspective of cognitive translatology,it will be beneficial to broadening the route of translation practice.
