Problems and Countermeasures of Undergraduate Exam Papers in Application-oriented Universities Revealed by the New Round of Evaluation
The new round evaluation of application-oriented universities has made it clear that school running should be student-centered and outcome-based with the goal of cultivating students'ability to serve the local e-conomy and society,i.e.with the capability of solving practical problems as the aim of talent training.As is known,academic evaluation is an indispensable link in assessing whether the goal of talent training has been achieved,and the quality of exam paper is an important measurement index for academic evaluation.So,by tak-ing our school's exam papers for example,this study analyzes the problems existing in the undergraduate aca-demic exam paper.The result shows that the format of most exam papers is up to the standard,but there still ex-ist some problems concerning them,such as improper amount and inappropriate difficulty of the examination questions,soleness of the examination objective,lack of appropriate situational materials.Therefore,teachers'ca-pability of paper setting need to be improved.And to solve these problems,several suggestions are provided in this paper:theoretical study of educational assessment should be strengthened so as to lay a solid theoretical foundation for teachers in exam paper generation;relevant training should be intensified to improve teachers'a-bility to design exam papers;contests in the exam paper designing should be conducted to optimize the philoso-phy of question setting and build a database of excellent papers;and the content should be taken as the focus in enhancing the quality of the papers.
