The Effect of Metal Colorants on the Color of Black Glaze under Oxidation Firing
Based on the characteristics of black glazed porcelain in China, this paper studies the changes in MnO2 and TiO2 content and the influence of glaze thickness on the color effect of black glaze in the glaze formula based on lime-alkali glaze.Through experiments and reflectance spectrum curve analysis,it is found that as the MnO2 content increases, the black glaze presents a yellowish-red tone, and the reflectivity first decreases and then increases. This trend is due to the release of oxygen by MnO2 at high temperatures, which affects the balance between Fe2+ and Fe3+.Adding an appropriate amount of MnO2 is beneficial to the migration of Fe3+ ions and eliminates the yellow-green color Ingredients;TiO2 content also has a significant impact on the color effect of black glaze, prompting more Fe2+ to transform into Fe3+,and producing a yellow effect;the mixed addition of MnO2 and TiO2 plays an important role in the color of black glaze, which can change the reflection characteristics so that more light is absorbed. In addition, the thickness of the glaze also has an important impact on the color.Too thin or too thick will affect the hiding power. This research is of great significance for enriching Chinese ceramic culture, improving the level of porcelain craftsmanship, and inheriting and developing the art of black-glazed porcelain.
