Experience of Intermittent Oro-esophageal Tube Feeding in Patients with Dysphagia Caused by True Bulbar Paralysis
Objective To explore the real experience of intermittent oro-esophageal tube feeding on pa-tients with dysphagia caused by true bulbar paralysis,and to provide reference for the optimal application of oro-esophageal tube feeding on these patients.Methods Purposive sampling method was used to select 16 patients with dysphagia caused by the true bulbar paralysis for semi-structured interviews,who were hospitalized by the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine of a tertiary hospital in Changzhi City from March 2022 to March 2023.Colaizzi's phenomenological data analysis method was used to analyze the data with the help of Nvivo11.0 software.Results A total of 3 themes were extracted,including psychological stress response,perceived benefits,and feeding care needs.Conclusions Medical staff should focus on the stress response of patients with dysphagia caused by the true bulbar paralysis.It is also necessary to en-hance the benefit experience,provide multiple support,and optimize the IOE application strategy.
