Objective To investigate the parental experience in managing nutrition during chemotherapy for children with solid tumors.Methods The parents of pediatric solid tumor patients were selected through purposive sampling in a tertiary A hospital in Shanghai.Sixteen parents participated in semi-struc-tured interviews,and data analysis was conducted using Colaizzi's phenomenological method.Results Par-ents not only faced various challenges during their children's chemotherapy,but also expressed complex feelings and sought professional guidance and family support while expressing a desire for more informa-tion on nutrition.Conclusions Parents of pediatric solid tumor patients should emphasize the importance of family support and effective dissemination of information on nutrition during chemotherapy,therefore en-hancing their skills in nutritional management and optimizing the nutrition of their children,so as to im-prove treatment tolerance and enhance the quality of life in the long run.
