Objective To explore body image disorder among patients with rheumatoid arthritis(RA)and to provide reference for intervention plans.Methods A phenomenological study was conducted and purpos-ive sampling method used to select 15 patients with RA from a tertiary A hospital in Ningxia for semi-structured interviews.The Colaizzi 7-step analysis was used for data analysis.Results 4 themes were ex-tracted,including perception of changes in physical appearance,negative experience of changes in the area,worries about the future,adaptive acceptance and maintenance of hope.Conclusions Medical staff should pay attention to the body image disturbance of patients with RA,and intervene in their appearance,limb function and genetic concern,etc.
