Evaluation of the Application Effect of a New Sputum Suction Device in Airway Management of Assistive Mechanical Ventilation Patients
Objective To compare the application effect of the new sputum suction device and the traditional device in airway management of assistive mechanical ventilation(AMV)patients, and to provide an effective method to improve the airway management effect and reduce the incidence of adverse events. Methods From March 2021 to March 2023,139 patients received AMV treatment in the Intensive Care Nursing Unit of the Department of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine of a hospital were selected by convenience sampling method. Each patient was alternately treated with disposable sputum suction tube(control group)and new sputum suction device(observation group)by self-control method. To evaluate and compare the nursing operation evaluation of the two sputum suction devices with the changes of blood oxygen saturation and the incidence of adverse events. Results Compared with the control group, the nursing operation in the observation group was more difficult, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The decrease rate of blood oxygen saturation in observation group was much lower than that in control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The incidence of respiratory bleeding in the observation group was significantly lower than that in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).But the incidence of arrhythmia was higher in the observation group(P<0.05).Conclusions New sputum suction device can significantly improve blood oxygen saturation, reduce the incidence of bleeding and other adverse reactions, promote tolerance of patients, and reduce nursing burden, which has a clinical application prospect.
