A Post-modernist Perspective of Translingual Writing and Its Developmental Trend
As a sustaining hot topic in international L2 writing studies,translingual writing has exerted extensive influence on writing studies around the world.Given the scarcity of domestic attention,this paper takes a post-modernist perspective to synthesize previous studies on translingual writing.It introduces the post-modernist view of language as embodied in translingual writing,analyzes its core connotations and central claims,reviews its developmental trend and finally discusses the realistic and practical possibilities of its application in teaching of writing.This paper points out that translingual writing has strong signs of post-modernism,represents a paradigm shift in writing studies and has strong implications for the development of writing ability,writing feedback and assessment,and writing teacher development.
