Cultivating Chinese Perspectives in Foreign Literature Studies
Foreign literature studies in China render a striking facet in which textual analyses are often foreign theory oriented and largely dominated by foreign perspectives resulting in a lack in sufficient critical evaluation of one's own.It is extremely necessary to reform and improve this kind of paradigms and approach a text from a Chinese perspective based on comparative studies embracing both notions of global cultural diversities and mutual learning of civilizations. It is then argued that foreign literature should also be examined from the context of Chinese modernization with the concept of"a Human Community with a Shared Future"in the hope of cultivating various Chinese perspectives nourished and enriched by mutual learning of civilizations both at home and abroad.
