在《利维坦》中,奥斯特通过分析不同历史背景下自由女神像的象征意义阐述了自己的政治观:从20世纪50年代对美国政治的想象性建构到80年代政治理想的幻灭,再到转向犹太化的美国政治,奥斯特的政治观经历了从美国化到犹太化的过程.他通过提出犹太化美国主义的方法,即将犹太人的政治理念加入美国主义的思想框架内,促进两种政治文化的交流、互动,形成和而不同、并驾齐驱的局面,为当代美国犹太人的身份政治塑造提供了参考,表达出对当代美国社会政治文化新秩序的想象.
Abstract
In Leviathan,Auster explores his political view by analyzing symbolic meanings of Statue of Liberty in different historical backgrounds:from imaginary construction of American politics in 1950s,to disillusionment in 1980s,and finally to Judaization.He puts forward the concept of Judaized Americanism:to add Jewish ideas into the thought framework modeled by Americanism to promote interaction of two political cultures,harmonious in diversity,which provides some reference for contemporary Jews'identity politics construction and reveals his imagination of a new political culture order in contemporary American society.
