Statue of Liberty and Auster's Political View in Leviathan
In Leviathan,Auster explores his political view by analyzing symbolic meanings of Statue of Liberty in different historical backgrounds:from imaginary construction of American politics in 1950s,to disillusionment in 1980s,and finally to Judaization. He puts forward the concept of Judaized Americanism:to add Jewish ideas into the thought framework modeled by Americanism to promote interaction of two political cultures, harmonious in diversity, which provides some reference for contemporary Jews'identity politics construction and reveals his imagination of a new political culture order in contemporary American society.
