Student assessment literacy is a key ability for students to conduct peer assessment, but it has not been fully concerned in the field of peer assessment.Taking English majors as participants, this study investigates the impact of peer assessment of English writing on student assessment literacy through a one-year teaching intervention. It is found that the students'assessment literacy was low before the teaching intervention, and they were not good at diagnosing problems. After the intervention, the students'assessment literacy in the three dimensions of problem detection, problem diagnosis and suggestion provision has significantly improved. The overall usefulness of comments shows a positive trend, with more specific comments and constructive comments. The writing level of students does not affect the effect of peer evaluation on improving assessment literacy, and both high and low level students can benefit from peer assessment. The research results can provide effective strategies for peer assessment to improve students'assessment literacy from a practical perspective.
