摘要
庞德时代的翻译标准是以忠实为核心的学术性翻译,要求译者忠实地传达原文的思想与精神.在自己的儒家经典翻译实践中,庞德反对以忠实为核心的学术性翻译,倡导译为创用、译为新作的译创融合思想,认为译文不是对原文的复制,而是一个不同于原作的新的作品.基于这种理念,庞德通过自身的儒家经典翻译实践对时代翻译标准发起了挑战.
Abstract
Scholarly translation,the dominant translation criterion at Ezra Pound's time,requires the translator to reproduce the original meaning and spirit in a faithful way.In his Confucian translation,however,Pound challenges this criterion,holding that translation is recreation where it is not a philological reproduction but an interpretative new work of the original.Guided by such a philosophy,Pound defies the translation criterion of his time by his English translation of Confucian classics.
