"A Red Red Rose"is a classical lyric poem of Robert Burns.During the Republic of China, some representative translators, such as Wu Fangji,Cheng Hexi and Yuan Shuipai created a great upsurge in re-translating this poem.In light of the theory of translator behavior criticism, this paper discusses their differences in terms of re-translator's attainments,re-translation motivation and translation proposition from the perspective of extra-translation.It also analyzes seeking truth and attaining utility in terms of form and rhythm, image and rhetoric devices, and semantics and style of the three translations from the perspective of intra-translation for a more objective and scientific evaluation, hoping to enrich the study of translation of Burns'poems.
