Overseas Research Status of African Bildungsroman:Reflection and Forecast
The attention to the African bildungsroman has been an important turn in the bildungsroman study in recent years.As the subgenre continues to develop in Africa,a number of constructive research achievements have emerged in the field of African bildungsroman study.This paper comprehensively summarizes the characteristics of the African bildungsroman study from various perspectives abroad,including the study of the African bildungsroman tradition and localizing strategies,the African colonial,post-colonial and diasporic bildungsroman study,the African female bildungsroman study,the study of the bildungsroman of a specific African country and the study of the African bildungsroman writers and their works,based on which the existing problems of current study and the future research trends are presented.
