Mechanical Characteristics Study on Floating Damage of Basement
Floating accidents in basements is very common. However, few studies are carried on the failure mechanisms and mechanical characteristics of floating basements.By using finite element software, three types of typical spatial models are established to compare the structural internal forces under floating and design conditions. It is shown that the internal forces of beams and columns change greatly when the basement floats. This results in many horizontal and oblique cracks of beams and columns.More cracks appear on the basement structures near the main building, while fewer cracks appear on the basement structures in the floating central area. The lower ends of the oblique cracks in beam and columns point to the floating central area.As the punching force on the foundation increases, the possibility of punching failure increases.According to the failure characteristics, the floating central area can be inferred and targeted treatment measures can be taken after the basement floats.
